Radio Free Alice Announce Debut Album, Share New Single “Crying With You”
Words by Matt Keenan
Radio Free Alice have announced their debut album, What's In Between, due out October 30th via Atlantic records. The announcement arrives alongside a new single, “Crying With You,” and news of a UK and European tour this autumn.
“Crying With You” was written during a retreat in Joshua Tree and came together by stitching two separate songs into one. It follows recent singles “Kick in the Shins” and “Lunch Money.”
The album caps a rapid rise for the band, who moved from Sydney to Melbourne at 18 and quickly began selling out local residencies before bringing their new-wave-inflected post-punk to the UK, Europe, and the US. Their momentum was underlined last week when more than 500 fans turned up to a pop-up show beneath a railway bridge in Bermondsey, organized with just a mere six hours’ notice.
Radio Free Alice will play the Reading Festival on August 29th before heading to the US for Riot Fest and Austin City Limits. The UK and European leg kicks off in Copenhagen on November 4th and wraps in Dublin on November 24th.
